I took my truck that I rarely drive to get inspected. Emission was fine however during the state inspection they "found" something that they can fail me for. The technician thought he was talking to a idiot and tried to convince me that my tire had "excessive" movement and I needed a new tire rod and some other additional work. After he finished I informed them that I had all of that work performed the previous year. Took the my truck to Midas where I was going to get the work done the mechanic advised me that my truck in in good shape and the work Car X said I needed was a joke. After talking to Tim (manager) he was willing to have my car looked at again by a different technician. After taking off of work for a second time, they were still trying to convince me that I needed to spend $$$. Now if Midas was not willing to take my business (money) after their inspection why would I pay Car-X? They are true Scammers and try to take advantage of hardworking people. Get a second opinion before allowing them to perform work on your car....You might not need it! I will never set foot in a Car-x again!

I took my car to Autotire in Ballwin for an oil change. They told us ... read more I took my car to Autotire in Ballwin for an oil change. They told us that we needed 4 new tires (because you can't just replace 2 tires on a 4 wheel drive jeep apparently). They said we also needed a tie rod, 2 ball joints and an alignment and that it would cost 1300 dollars. I needed to replace the front bumper on my car so I took it first to the Dent Devil to have it done which is next door to Autotire. On 8/23/2012 I picked up my car from Dent Devil and they had replaced and painted the front bumper. I drove it straight from the Dent Devil next door to Autotire to have the work done they said the car needed. When I picked up the car the next day, there were a couple scratches on my bumper that I had just replaced. I showed the Manager Mike the scratches and he said he would call the corporate office and report it and that they would call me. It is now Oct. 6th and I still have not been contacted by the office even though I called Mike back several times telling him I had not been contacted. The other thing I should mention is that I was told by another front desk worker that if we paid an extra 150 dollars for the tie rod and ball joints that we would have a life time warranty on these parts. When I later said something to Mike the manager, he told me that none of their parts have life time warranties. There is no telling what else I may have been lied to about as far as work needing to be done to my car.
