Here's the deal... I took my Ferrari to Mondino based on recommendation. I needed the belts and hoses done, and dropped the car off with them. They did the work, and most things were done well, BUT, the job required that the top end be resealed, which included the distributors. I relocated to Oregon, and trailered the car. I put the car in storage for 6 months, while I was overseas in support of defense efforts, and when I returned I took the car for a drive. I drove less than 200 miles, and when I got home i noticed oil under the car. I took the car to the Ferrari dealer / service in Portland for a new clutch and to repair the oil leak. After they took the car apart, they showed me that the oil seals were replaced with inferior aftermarket seals, which caused the leak. Now, Mondino has a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty, which I understand, but when they put inferior parts in the car, causing nearly a $1000 repair for work they had done, I believe it renders their warranty policy invalid. I have contacted them twice, and they refuse to reimburse me for the faulty service that had to be repaired, and tell me I need to bring the car back to them to fix it.

However, I find your allegations unsound. First, when your mechanic retrieved the car for you from Balta Auto Repair, I am sorry that he didn't consider voicing the concerns,if any, immediately to me personally, and that he chose to deliver your vehicle to you in that alleged condition. I can personally assure that our company's policy is to treat every customer's car as our own and provide the customer service to the upmost standards. I started this business many years ago and would only operate under the idea of safety and customer considerations. We make it clear to our customers that they can and are encouraged to voice their concerns regarding the repairs to us so we can make it right. I am also sorry that you had to shop around for a different mechanic to fix your vehicle's alleged alignment issue but as I mentioned-- we are happy to fix the vehicles properly if you voice your concerns and allow us to physically inspect the issue. In light of your situation, an actual in-shop inspection of your alleged alignment problem would have given us the idea of the proper way to assess it. It is unfortunate that you chose a third party to make the assessment and voice your allegations on our business via the internet. That said, please recall that you were never denied a refund for the repair and your allegations on this point a blatantly inaccurate. Finally, I always take responsibility for me and my staff when it comes to customer care. This is the way we have built a family business for this community and your situation is unfortunate in the sense that you have declined a two-way conversation and closed the door on a meaningful resolution here. Thank you, Robert Bacanskas Owner of Balta Auto Repair
