I have a hybrid car that needed a software update and coolant sensor changed. Clausen off Stoughton Rd was the only place I could find that dealt with hybrids locally but three out of the five yelp reviews were customers stating they were ripped off there. Because I only needed a software update and a coolant sensor changed I figured it’d be straightforward and relatively low risk of getting scammed. They ended up lying about the scope of work needed and charged me $750 to change a coolant sensor. I provided evidence proving they were lying to me and they instantly change their story on why all the extra work was done and refunded me a few hundred bucks. A few months later I get the same coolant sensor error. I call them up and ask if the sensor is under warranty. They can’t tell me but do ask that I bring it in. To be clear, I was gonna have them replace the sensor if needed and under warranty - and if anything more was needed I was gonna take it elsewhere. They call me a day later and tell me I have a radiator leak and want $2000 to repair. I’m confused as I park in my garage 100% of the time and have never seen a leak. The next day I am thinking about it when it occurs to me that I may NOW have a radiator leak after taking it there. I literally rush to my garage and look under my car. Wouldn’t you know, I now have a very large puddle of coolant on my garage floor. And not a small leak as it is everywhere (I took pictures), several gallons as the tank is now almost empty. Ripping off and scamming your customers is a dirt bag move. These people don’t care about you or your vehicle. They should be out of business.

This caused over $3500.00 in damages to our vehicle. It ruined the front fender, both running boards, the drivers door and window. We paid Broadway Tire the full amount for the service that day, after we were assured by Adam Schroeder, manager of the Monona location, that they would absolutely repair our vehicle at one of their selected body shops. Their body shops told us the damage was extensive and would cost as much as the vehicle was worth, we returned to Broadway Tire and were again told not to worry that they would repair our vehicle no matter what it costs. It has been two months and they have not repaired our vehicle and instead tried to get us to take approx. $1600.00. They refuse to honor our agreement that they would pay for the repairs if we paid for the service, now they are trying to deny it, saying "what, for a bent fender". We had been customers of theirs for DECADES. Ask yourself if you want to take your car in to Broadway Tire, have them destroy it, charge you for the work they did when they destroyed it, tell you to pay for it because they will be repairing your vehicle, have them run you around for a whole day to their body shops that for some reason won't do the work for Broadway Tire, wait two months and then have them tell you that you have to settle for scrape value on your beautiful car. This has cost my husband over $850.00 in time off from work on top of the damage to the vehicle and they are nothing but rude. If they apologize for their actions and will live up to their contract to fix our vehicle or provide reasonable and fair compensation so that we can have our vehicle repaired I will update my review.

I'm a new owner and I was a little intimidated about taking my car to a "race shop" but after my research they really seemed like the best option and appeared to provide a good experience to "normal" people. I'm a pretty hardcore home mechanic but the 911 is a different beast and I know my limits - I needed to find a professional to deal with a transmission drop. It also means I'm SUPER picky about who I will work with. I'm happy to say that this was the best vehicle service experience I've ever had. I never felt out of place because I'm not a racer boy or anything like that. Dan the service manager is super responsive and knowledgable and when you have a question he can't answer he goes to the mechanics and does a great job of translating for you. I got no judgement when asking questions like "do you have Porsche Special tool 9699/1 and what is your experiencing dealing with crankshaft bore concentricity issues." They worked efficinently and most importantly, there rates are suprisingly fair. I've read stories on the internet of inflated Porsche service costs in excess of 200-300 dollars an hour. These guys we like half that and just did an awesome job. I'm much more likely to continue my Porsche ownership now that I know I have a partner in town I can work with. Prior to this I was kinda on the fence about keeping the car because of the fear of running costs and working with unreliable yahoos to keep the car running. I'm not suggesting that there might not be other options in the area - can't say. But I'm just happy I picked well my first go around. I'm back to enjoying Porsche ownership after my first scare and I owe that to the team at Kelly Moss. --Ian
