I had immediate help when my car wouldn't start.  We ran up against a weekend and a holiday.  However, they got the work done in a reasonable timeframe and one of the things we really appreciated was their communication with us.  They took time to talk with us, explain the situation and also returned calls.  Hockett and Olsen went above and beyond to help us. They have managed to keep our very old cars running. We will continue to use their services in the future.

Hockett & Olsen Automotive was a miracle worker in performing major repairs and sourcing parts on our 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara. The car was a gift we received for our son; the folks who gave it to us were completely upfront that there had been a noise for a very long time; that the noise probably meant that it needed new bearings. After taking the car to 2 different mechanics who couldn't address that problem (but did uncover some leaks in the power steering), we found Hockett & Olsen via their website. We had already contacted a former Suzuki dealership, which supposedly was authorized to do work on Suzukis with authorized parts, but they were going to charge a hefty fee for merely diagnosing the problem. That attitude, and the fact that their ratings were mostly 1's, led me to H&O, whose ratings were mostly 5's! From the very first day that the car was in their shop, H&O kept us informed every step of the way: 1) confirming the diagnoses of of the bearings issues and profound power steering leaks, 2) calling all over the U.S. to find the parts necessary to do the repairs, including an entire power steering rack, 3) when the right rear axle was determined to have been too spun down to accept the bearing press, and a replacement axle could not be found, were able to build up the bearing seat and shave it down to proper specification. Every step of the way, they consulted us and kept us informed: they never gave up! 5 weeks later, our son drove off in a dependable car, and now we know where we will ALWAYS go for service!
