Since living in Charlottesville for 20 years, I’ve been to a number of independent mechanics as well as the local dealerships. When you have a car under warranty (bumper to bumper) or you just have money to burn, then you can just keep doing what you’re doing. But if you’re on a budget and you want an honest mechanic with real integrity who just wants to charge a fair price for excellent work, I don’t know anyone else in town that fits that bill. There likely is another mechanic like Jimmy (along with his crew), but I haven’t heard of them. I recommend Jimmy to everyone, when the opportunity arises. Not that Jim needs anymore word of mouth marketing. I don’t think there are any downturns in an economy that will effect his business because when times are tough people go to those people they know they can trust. He’s been working on four different vehicles for more than ten years. I trust Jimmy.
Manager, John at the Jiffy Lube in Harrisonburg, Va, was extremely ru... read more Manager, John at the Jiffy Lube in Harrisonburg, Va, was extremely rude and arrogant when I arrived to return my Uhaul rental truck. Although I was schedule to drop this rental at this location, John wanted to know why I was bringing it back there. He refused to check it in, and told me to just leave the keys in the door, though he was outside and by the parked vehicle at the time. He told us that we should probably take it somewhere else, and explained that the last person who brought one there was charged extra charges. When my wife asked his name, he said " I am John, and yes...I am the manager". He came very close to making me lose my temper with the agressive and rude way in which he was talking to my wife. We were both shocked to be treated with a total lack of respect, and from a manager, at that. We are just moving to Harrisonburg from east Tennessee, and will need a garage to do vehicle services, but you can rest assured that we will not give John a nickle of our business.
Got 4 new tires install.Waited in waiting room with big window to shop... read more Got 4 new tires install.Waited in waiting room with big window to shop.Afer tires installed. There tech Zackery backed my suv up and took off reving engine and spinning rear tires across shop floor.I complained to front desk.Went Outside Noted They did not replace Chrome metal tire valve caps.Back to front desk to 3 techs down hall laughing about my complaint & missing caps ;They replaced with plastic chrome caps. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!Doug
