59 Marine INC

I brought my boat (2005 seahunt with a 150 Mercury) to this place on sept 3rd, 2018.. Myself, my friend, and the owner jimmy stood and talked about what all going on with the boat that I wanted him to address which included rebuilding the carbs, fix the speed o meter, fix the fuel gauge, fix the steering shaft that was leaking, and change the throttle cables because the shift lever had gotten “stiff”. He assured me it wouldn’t be a problem and promised me an “offshore ready” boat when I got it back. 
    Over the course of the next three months, I called on a weekly or bi weekly basis just to check and see where we store with everything. I was told everything from “lemme get your name and number and I’ll call you back” , “jimmys not in right now but I’ll get him call you” , jimmys in the back working on it now” , “it should be ready by the weekend” , “we haven’t had a chance to get started on it yet” and numerous other things I’m sure. Not once did I ever receive a call back from anyone, and on four different occasions I was told “your boat will be ready Friday”.. I’ve heard every excuse under the sun as to why my boat wasn’t fixed..... Now fast forward three months after I dropped it off, I finally call and I get told “yes it’s finished up and ready for pick up”... Today, 11/01/18 I pick my boat up..  there’s old parts laying in the floor of my boat, they lost the drain plug, there’s hydraulic steering oil in the floor, the shifter is still just as hard as it was the day I dropped it off ( “we sprayed some cleaner down the factory lines”) , the fuel gauge still doesn’t work, and instead of fixing my factory speed o meter (which was nothing more that the connector you take off when taking off the lower unit), he buys an aftermarket speed o meter and screws it into the hull of my bay boat... 
    I asked jimmy how much I owed him for the job and he told me $1200.... $1200 for a job that he claim has $800 in parts (carb kits, steering shaft ends, steering oil, and an after market speed o meter)... I feel like I’m the one that got the shaft here and he stole my hard earned money! I’m as honest as they come and I always expect the same in return. I did not get that experience with 59 marine at all!!!! Please take your boat elsewhere so maybe you won’t have the nauseous feeling that I have right now!
