DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION! I repeat do not trust this location! There are plenty of other reputable mechanics in this area and you DO NOT want to go to this location. Negligent - Vehicle Repairs - 4/19/14On 4/19/14 - I took my vehicle to the Meineke located on Rock Canyon Dr. Vehicle had a rattling heat shield. I was looking for a simple tack weld to hold the part. The mechanic told me that he saw the item and it appeared it had been tack welded in the past. The mechanic stated that he was just going to remove the heat shield. I asked the mechanic if that was okay and the mechanic told me the heat shield was a fancy piece of metal that wasn't needed. I told the mechanic to go ahead with the repair. After about 2 hours the mechanic came back in stating the heat shield had been removed but that he damaged another item, a pipe. Mechanic said that he now needed to repair that part. After about 2.75 hours the mechanic returned the vehicle. I left the property and drove about a block before noticing my car had a new problem. The vehicle was shimmering very loudly. The shimmering stopped by the time I got home so I didn't think anything else of it. Later I ran an errand and the car continued to shimmer. I took it back to the shop at 4pm and a mechanic rode with me. The mechanic said it was the fans and that it was perfectly fine. The mechanic said I had nothing to worry about.I took the vehicle to another brand of vehicle repair shop on 4/21/14. I was told the other shop was negligent in their repairs. My vehicle was close to starting on fire due to the heat being release and no heat shield. The oil filter was starting to melt. The fan that cools the engine had started to melt and was causing an off balance issue which is why the car was shimmering. I had to encounter $2,400 in repairs due to the negligence of Meineke. Plus I had to have a rental car during the repair period due to waiting for parts.Due to the negligence cause by Meineke, I believe they should be liable for the damage caused to my vehicle by their repairs. Additionally, the mechanics were untruthful in telling me there was no need for concern. Reimburse me for repairs. Response from the location is: The customer states, they came back to the shop to complain about a shimmer after their repair. The customer never returned after the initial repair. An exhaust heat shield has absolutely no relationship or can affect cooling fans which are located very far away from the any exhaust heat shield. Cooling fans are located @ the very front of all vehicles and are not under the vehicle where there is exhaust. Regarding the oil filter damage-this also was not cause by a removal of a heat shield. Any damage to this oil filter that has been presented has been fabricated. Meineke accepts no responsibility for this very false trumped up claim. ======================== This location flat out lied about the truth. I ran an errand and arrived at the shop at 4pm. The individual that worked on my car sent out an male mechanic who was supposed to ride in the vehicle with me. The mechanic went back to get a floor mat and then got in my vehicle. We proceeded West for one block and the mechanic states oh that's just your engine fans no need to be worried. I explained that before I brought the vehicle in to the shop it was not making that noise. Again the mechanic told me no worries. Obviously I was concerned. The mechanic told me to drive into the middle mechanic bay and to pop my hood. When we drove in the mechanic that rode with me went up to the mechanic that worked on my car and they started whispering where I could not hear. Obviously dishonest activity. If you have nothing to hide why would you whisper. Then the mechanic comes back over to the vehicle and says see the fans running and feel the car. That's what the vibration was. I explained that the vibration was not the same and that was not what we heard when driving. Again the mechanic told me there's nothing to worry about and sent me on his way. During the 3 hours the mechanic spent working on my car he came in and told me things get really hot under the car and this will take some time. Never did the mechanic show me where he was working. About 3/4 of the way he tells me that he damaged some part on the vehicle and now had to repair that. That took about another 45 minutes. During this time the mechanic was working on the vehicle is when he made damages. This location will argue this because they obviously don't care about quality, ethical car care. Hence the response they accept no liability. Of course you accept no responsibility when you run a shady operation. Stay away from this location.DO NOT TRUST THIS LOCATION!
