Please don't take your vehicle to this particular AAMCO. My daughter and I took our 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in on the morning of 07/23/14 for an oil change, a free multi-polnt inspection, to check the starter that they had installed Nov 2013 that was still not starting properly but was under warranty, and to check the brakes. We were told by Bob Big that they would check the vehicle and call us back on Thursday 07/24/14 which he did to tell me in this order, brakes need to be replaced, bushing gone on steering wheel, oil change and filter, chopped teeth on starter, flywheel needs to be replaced, and labor. The parts would cost $1254.50 and the labor would cost $1399.30 which included $945.30 to replace the flywheel. I told him we would have to get the vehicle repaired later because we did not have that much money and that we would pick the vehicle up and he said we could not pick the vehicle up because it was not operational, that they could not release it to us that it would be detremental to us and other people on the hwy I told him we only lived approx 3 miles from there and we had driven it there he said they could not release it back to us I told him that we did not have that kind of money so he said how much money do we have I sd the most we had was $300, he sd bring the $300 of which I did. He told me once the parts were paid they would take post dated cks for 6 mo for the labor my daughter and I went back Monday morning to tell him we were not going to have the work done at this time because we could not afford it we were going to have the vehicle towed back to the house he told us to go back home and he would call us after he saw what had been done I told him nothing should have been done because he said the parts had to be paid for first he said he would call us. He called back in about 3 hrs to say that we had to pay $794.90 because they had replaced the flywheel which $945.30 for labor and $149.60 for parts minus the $300 leaving a balance of $794.90 which had to be paid prior to picking up the vehicle I told him we did not authorize him to repair the vehicle he said the $300 was a down pmt on the parts so I sd are you financing the labor he sd no because you broke the contract you are not letting us do all the work I said we did not sign a contract or anything for you to do any work he said that was what we had to pay to get the vehicle. This was on Monday 07/28/14. He called me on Thurs 07/31/14 And said that if we did'nt pay the money that day we were going to be charged $25 a day for storage. all I needed was a transmission oil change, but they not only forgot to put oil in the transmission ( I mean no oil at all), they stripped one of the pan bolt! Took it back after checking the oil when I got home the next day and it was dry, took it back they said it was a little low and filled it. After that I found oil in the driveway everyday, found a stripped bolt that they said they didnt do and dont know anything about it. Never leaked before.all I needed was a transmission oil change, but they not only forgot to put oil in the transmission ( I mean no oil at all), they stripped one of the pan bolt! I brought my 2001 Pt Cruiser in for transmission repairs. I had previously had the same job done by another business 3 1/2 years ago & the transmission went out again. Customer service at the 7900 Hwy 6 Aamco was excellent. Not only did they repair my vehicle again but they did it in a timely manner & worked with me on the price of the repair. Everyone was very friendly. I would most definitely recommend this establishment to everyone I know & will be using them for future repairs.
