I had an appointment for an inspection. They said I had a leak at my catalytic converter. My car has 2 cats, a front one and a back one, so i asked which one was leaking. The women got an attitude and really became a b****. She pulled the same BS with me that she pulled with the review by Heather, saying they are closing early and if I wanted my car I had to come get it soon. I just don't feel these are the most honest of people. Seems like when they get questioned about specifics by people who know what they are talking about, they pivot to attitude and defense, opposed to logical answers and discussions. I know (because I am in a job that involves customer service) that dealing with the public can be difficult, but if you can't do it, go find something else to do. No one forced you to into this role.I had an appointment for an inspection. They said I had a leak at my catalytic converter. All in all I had a great experience, did miss the turn and had to sit through a couple lights but it was dark. Their lot was lit and I was able to leave my car at night feeling pretty secure. Lindsay called me the next day and told my vehicle was ready by 10:00 am. Jimmy found a hose off my engine and put it on for me. He ordered the correct hose from Cadillac and did not charge me that much to put it on. Ill tell my friends about this shopAll in all I had a great experience, did miss the turn and had to sit through a couple lights but it was dark. I have lived in Pittsburgh for several years now and found a really cool shop that is worth talking about. It is a small shop, Jimmy and his wife Lindsay. I talked to Jimmy for a while, super nice and professional. My 01 740il had a bad engine so I was told by another shop and Jimmy gave me a nice quote to replace it. When I towed it to him he told me my plastic intake had a leak and that was causing the problem. Needless to say he fixed it in 2 days and saved me a lot of aggrivation. Since then he has me on a good service schedule and keeps track of everything. Its a great shop and has many good reviews online. Their number is 412-628-2153, Lindsay will answer give them a call.I have lived in Pittsburgh for several years now and found a really cool shop that is worth talking about. I first went to Jimmy because I got a groupon for a state inspection. He seemed to be very personable and he didn't seem to try to take advantage of me. The mechanic I had been using and trusted very much was 45 minutes from my house so when my brake light came on about 3 months after my inspection, I went back to Jimmy rather than my normal place. I dropped my car off Tuesday evening so he could look at it Wednesday. Wednesday evening at 5pm, he left me a message saying that I needed a master cylinder. I talked to him on Thursday morning. He then told me that it was a master cylinder but that he may run into a myriad of other problems. The least it would cost me was $222 if it was only the master cylinder. He did not want to give me a worst case scenario but eventually said it could be as much as $1000. I told him to go ahead as I needed it fixed. He said that he would soak it in penetrating oil overnight and get started the next morning. Friday I got a call from them saying that he found issues and it would be at least $558 if nothing else was found. He said that he found some lines that had to be replaced and that my brakes would need to be replaced before the winter. Later in this same message he said the back brakes may need to be replaced by spring, then later yet, he said maybe mid next summer. It started to sound fishy so I asked my dad to call. He called and spoke to the woman of the shop. She began to give my dad attitude and told him "well we told her we may encounter problems". My dad asked what they had done and was told nothing. We told them don't touch it anymore, we would get it. 2 hours later I got a call saying that if I wanted my vehicle, I had to pick it up by 3:30 as they decided they were going to close early. When I arrived to get it, Jimmy didn't even come over, the lady gave me the bill and was very short with me. When I picked it up, my brake light was still on.
