About 180 miles into our trip our alternator burnt out. Because I thought the issue was a faulty battery, I called AAA for a battery service. The tech determined the alternator was the issue. She could not recommend a nearby mechanic and said we'd be hard pressed to get service given the New Years holiday. Not being from the Carlisle, PA area, we decided to conduct a Google search and found T&M Automotive was about a 1/2 mile away. Turns out they are a AAA approved shop. Go figure why the AAA tech didn't know them! We spoke with Henrik who agreed to help us out. They were amazing!!! Henrik was able to get the required part, had his tech install it, test drove it and got us back on the road 3 hours later. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. They could have easily charged us more and we would have had to pay it given our situation. If you live in the Carlisle area, I highly recommend you use T&M Automotive for your car care. they changed the transmission on my suburban. just under a year we had... read more they changed the transmission on my suburban. just under a year we had problems with the transmission still under warranty. they gave us a hard time about honoring the shoddy work they did. They adjusted the gearbox and sent us away. the tranny blew and screwed up the engine with it.I won't bring a bigwheel to those hacks to fix.
I had my diesel transmission rebuilt at this garage in January of 2014... read more I had my diesel transmission rebuilt at this garage in January of 2014. I paid $2,450 for this service only to find within a month that I had to take it back in. I repeated this process four times and then asked for my money back. I was told they stand behind their word but have been waiting two months for the check. I am very dissatisfied with this service and I certainly could not recommend it to someone else. Eleven months later and I am still out the money. I am hoping for some Christmas magic.
