They realized it was just the hose. They treated her like any other customer and not as a child. She left feeling safe and secure. I was about to cut bait on this car, after so many unresolved issues kept stacking up, but figured I'd give it one more chance with a new shop. So glad I did, because the car now runs and drives better than ever.. by a lot. Everything they did was clearly explained, plus they prioritized what needed to be done now, and what could wait.
