The manager here comes off a little funny but being knowledgeable abou... read more The manager here comes off a little funny but being knowledgeable about cars myself, I chose to go here after sending my car to another place that claimed to be experts but wanted to charge me for a wrong and unnecessary problem. The mechanics at Independent fixed the actual issues with my car and now it's running very smooth. I found the mechanics to be great. Any negative reviews might be due to irrational costumes who see an old looking independent business and think they can get them to charge under price, then get mad and irrational when they don't. My parents had a housing appliance shop growing up and they'd get the same kind of bs from the locals.

I went there in my 2012 camry because they were rated #1 oil change in... read more I went there in my 2012 camry because they were rated #1 oil change in south bay paper, and they told me the same ($35 more for synthetic). When I called toyota, Toyota said it is 5w20 synthetic. So i had it done and seemed very fair, quick service. I read this review first, and was hesitant, but my engine still runs and I saw they used the correct oil and changed filter. Seemed legit. would go back. Very fast service.
