We bought a 2006 ford explorer for about $9500 from Northeast motors in North Hampton, NH from cargurus.com. Decent price, was what we were looking for, they are local and delivered to us, and it even came with an inspection sticker. The first 2 miles that I drove it, the check engine light came on. Called them immediately and they said there was nothing they could do until they talked to the owner. The owner had the secretary email to bring it back and they would pay for HALF of the repairs. Brought it to our local garage and they found numerous things wrong with it totaling about $1600 in repairs. Local garage said it should have NEVER passed inspection as it was unsafe to drive. I had driven it with my 2 kids in it already. The brakes and rotors are horrifically bad ~ not road worthy. The wheel bearing in one of the tires is gone ~ another safety hazard that shouldn't have passed inspection. One windshield wiper is broken ~ another reason it shouldn't have passed inspection, As it shifts in to overdrive, it severely bucks which our mechanic says means a bad spark plug and it is a big job to take the spark plug out of these things. The bushing on the serpentine belt is bad causing the serpentine belt to slip and needs replacing. Our garage gave us written statements for all of these things (which we gladly paid to have a full review) and we supplied to the owners of Northeast motors and they respond with "We are in business to make money NOT take cars back". Really? Sound like good customer service? We literally drove the car for about 25 miles and parked it and they won't take it back. They offered to do the repairs but only if WE paid for half of them? REALLY? Would you trust having them do the repairs? They are in the business to make money. They would probably put used parts on or jack the prices up so that we have to pay for it all. Very Dishonest and Deceptive people. Even their own warranty states that they will pay half of all repairs.

They sell junk auction cars at ridicules prices and then become accusatory and down right rude when they are expected to do repairs. The first issue was preventing us from getting a sticker, that forced them make repairs. Their mechanic is quite efficient and pleasant, he really needs to leave there before he is tainted by their fraud. If you are willing to pay for major repairs yourself, as many other posters have I am sure you will get a great car. I personally had transmission problems, a broken frame, engine skipping, and power loss with in weeks of purchase. I then got yelled at and abused by them when I wanted repairs. Stay away for Hobbs.

It's more expensive than some other oil changes, but they use Mobil 1, which'll keep your car running in tip top shape. I never ever have to wait for an oil change- I just drive up and they take me. They even throw in a quick front floor vacuum for free! They check all your fluids, belts, filters, etc. too, which is helpful. They let me know about a bad serpentine belt I had, and even though I opted to go to m regular mechanic to fix it, they were nice to let me know. My favorite part about this place is that there is always a really nice dog in the waiting room to wait with you
