My car is a KIA Carnival 2024, the folks did not have the oil filter that the car needed, so they had to order the filter that day. I was not a walk in and registered my car online... so I would've thought that a filter would have been ordered beforehand... but maybe that is not the protocol, anyways... That was the first unfortunate thing that happened. Not only did the person order the wrong filter, the filter took over 1.5 hrs to get on location. It was then that they realized that the filter was the wrong one. The second order of the correct filter also took over an hour... So at this point, it was around 12:30/1:30 and I was being as patient as I could... Losing a half days worth of work and then having to work later that night was what I was trying to avoid by scheduling the appointment at 10:00 a.m. The person working the computer that day was really nice and I really wish I didn't have this kind of experience.... But waiting 4 hrs for an oil change is not ideal and then having to pay full price without any discount for the time spent on site was upsetting. I saw that they did leave some stuffed animals and a pack of wipes in the car, but at this point the damage had been done. If I do come back to Matt's for an oil change... I might be inclined to bring a filter myself so this type of incident doesn't happen again... I apologize for writing this and I do hope it is a one off incident. I will still be bringing the car for the next one... But if that one doesn't go well, I might have to find another local place to take our vehicle. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

She had driven across the country to visit for the holidays and it was making noise and had a crack starting in it so I made an appointment to get it in and taken care of. They got me in right away on a short notice and we’re fairly quick with their service which is awesome. The issue is when they replaced the belt, none of the pulleys or tensioners were inspected at the time and the inner fender liner was loosely fitted back on. On her way back home the idler pulley bearing seized and spun the bolt out of the pulley assembly. Another tensioner pulley needed to be replaced as well due to wear. This combination left her stranded on the side of the road for a night and a majority of the following day. She had to pay for a tow and replacement of all damaged parts. Now I may be wrong but one would assume that you would inspect tensioners and pulleys when replacing a belt as to avoid this. Maybe that is not the case like I said I am just speculating. I also didn’t ask for them to do that so that could be a fault of my own. I’ve gotten a lot of second opinions before writing this and have come to the conclusion that mistakes were made on both parties. I’m in the service industry and I get shit happens but I feel this could have been avoided. Feel free to contact me if you feel so inclined. thanks.
