The Mr. Tire location on Blowing Rock Road in Boone NC could not get the replacement TPMS to work on our original visit May 1, 2023 or when we returned the next day. We were promised a refund for the TPMS part that was installed, but we haven't got it yet. They also failed to return our wheel locks. We had to spend over $300 at our local mechanic when we got home to fix the problems. UPDATE: After some time, we did receive a refund for the TPMS part installed by Mr. Tire. After leaving this review, we were contacted by Mr. Tire's parent corporation, Monro, who said that they were sending us a refund for the wheel locks that were not returned to us and the work that our mechanic had to do to remove them. They refused to pay for the work our mechanic had to do to get the TPMS system working again when we returned home. He told us that Mr. Tire had not programmed the replacement TPMS that they installed to the correct frequency for our vehicle. We're not happy with this company's response to this issue.

When I first made my purchase in November of 2014, my wife and I walked out considering this one of the easiest and most efficient car buying experiences of our lives. We traded in our minivan for full value and upgraded to a nice SUV. We settled on a price in the $11,000 range and Don McGee shook my hand and went to find out about lending options. Then, after discussing it with my wife, we requested an additional warranty. Don tried really hard to talk us out of it, not sure why. But, since we were spending so much to begin with, we really wanted to have the peace of mind of a warranty. So, Don agreed to a 3-year, 50,000 mile warranty through their 3rd party warranty company (AUL) and tacked on an additional $2000 to the sale price as a result. We signed all the paperwork where Don told us to sign and drove away in our new SUV. Per Don, the warranty people would mail us the details of the warranty within a few weeks. Over the next three months, we called several times because we hadn't received the warranty information and Don assured us "I'll get right on that" and that the paperwork would be on the way. Last week, a noticed a leak under the hood so we called Don again. Suddenly, his manager calls us back stating, "you didn't purchase a warranty, you signed paperwork saying there was no warranty, and you're out of luck." He said the best he could do is "write Don up" which, since Don weasled and extra $2000 out of us for absolutely nothing, is not going to amount to much I'm sure. So, the experience was great right up until we realized they are lying, stealing snakes that have no qualms about taking $2000 out of your pocket.

Got a car there four months ago for $4200, the owner promised a good car. It left us on the side of the road multiple times. The car completely tore apart. The computer is messed up. Windows won't work. Water leaking in floorboard. The car didn't even have the right size of tires. The first time the car left us on the side of the road is because the tire blew out. We went to the trunk to get the "brand new" looking spare tire. The spare tire was all shined up and looking pretty. Took the tire out of trunk and underneath we found that the spare tire was blown out. The check engine light came on the day after I wasted my money to this business. This place is a joke.
