I would be VERY cautious when purchasing a car from Little Brother Subaru. My wife and my experience there has been very negative, and our personal recommendation would be for a consumer to avoid buying a car there at all. If, however, you are purchasing there, be extremely careful about what car you are actually purchasing. The owner, Tom Wambeke ,was misleading about the 2000 Outback we purchased. He informed us that it was a one-owner car from California, when, in fact, the Carfax showed that it had 3 owners, was in a wreck, and was from the east coast. He also informed us that the mechanics who share his building (Harmony Motors, who also happen to be related to Mr. Wambeke) had inspected the car and given their recommendation that it was in good condition. He told us that his Carfax subscription was up, and that we would have to get one ourselves. Although we regret it now, we waited to purchase a carfax, and in retrospect, wonder if he knew what it said and didn’t want to show it to us if he could help it. After the purchase, we quickly found there was a transmission that needed immediate repair, a major leak in the exhaust system, several problems in the front end probably related to the accident they had not reported to us, major damage to a wheel bearing, along with several normal maintenance that should have been done along the way. Instead, corners obviously had been cut by previous owners. Not reporting problems or issues with a car is bad enough, but misleading us was another step that has led us to give this establishment a very low recommendation along with a desire to never do business there again. Mr. Wambeke did originally pay half of our transmission repair bill, probably understanding that he sold us a lemon, but has not even responded to notifications and requests regarding all of the other repairs we have had to do. Montana lemon laws prevent us from taking any action, but we certainly want to inform the public. Either as a resultI would be VERY cautious when purchasing a car from Little Brother Subaru.
