This will be a two parter, and I hope every one who reads this, will be spared their time energy and money, by simply going some place else. First off Brians small engine is aparently no longer "Brians" but being transfered or so to his son Chris. Now from what ive seen so far Chris is running this buisness into the ground. I took a couple lawn mowers in a while back, I knew they needed a basic toon up, spark plug/air filter blade sharpened, but I wanted a quote on how much it would cost to repair them. My thoughts were if it wasnt too much I would have it repaired. So Chris said hed look at them and call me back with a quote. Well I got a call 4 days later, yes four days, from another mechanic working there. He said it would be $85 to fix the mowers. I asked was that for the group? and what was wrong he said no that was for each mower $85 each and they only needed a spark plug air filter and blade sharpened. I told him I could buy a brand new mower for that, and I told him Id just swing back by and pick them up. Well when I got there to pick them up, Chris said Id have to pay 37.50, when I asked where did that number come from, nothing was done or repaired. Chris said thats the cost to look at the mowers and give a quote. I said I never agreed to that, and I could buy the parts for the same price as that myself. So we went back and forth on this for a bit, and I finaly decided to just pay it and leave, never to come back again. Now for the boats. I have seen first hand boats being pulled out of the water with the motar still down draging the blade on the pavement. Ive seen boats not loaded on the trailers fully, being draged on the pavement wearing holes into the pontoons.. This is a new company. The people working here dont care about your stuff your time and expect to pay way more money than its worth. This will be a two parter, and I hope every one who reads this, will be spared their time energy and money, by simply going some place else. This was the first season we used Brians to winterize and stow our pontoon boat. We did the same thing we do every year for the past 25 years, we remove the cover, fold it as neat as possible, and lay it on the floor in the back of the boat. When the boat was delivered, the cover was not in it. This cover was a brand new Aqualon from Sir Graves. When we went back to the shop to ask about the cover, they quickly said they did not have it and furthermore they never had it. They continued to say we were mistaken and the cover must be at our homes. Well we have small mobile homes, and smaller sheds, and we would surely know if there was a 23 foot long boat cover laying around. We went back and forth just a minute or two as we explained it was our first year with Brians, and we never took our cover years past, and we were not told we had to take our cover. I am sure the driver did not see it folded in the back or perhaps he would have said something. As soon as we said it was a brand-new only used one season, the boss quickly flipped over the contract and pointed to clause number #5 which said, and I am paraphrasing, "...too bad for you we are not responsible..." The contract also said, at our request, to fix the rubber grommet where the cables enter the outboard, this was not done, and we paid for an oil change that I must wonder if it was completed or not. I will examine the oil next trip and give an update. Oh yes, when I asked to speak to the driver who picked-up our boat, "he retired."This was the first season we used Brians to winterize and stow our pontoon boat. Brian's does a great job, with personalized service. A good value for the work. I have had my 2006 Bayliner serviced at Brian's since new...I would not even think of taking it back to the dealer. I have heard horror stories about service at the big dealer in town. Keep up the customer oriented service Brian! Brian has also opened a Marina on the lake for docking and gas....a nice option instead of the 'orange's place.Brian's does a great job, with personalized service. A good value for the work.
