The AC stopped working on our BMW on the drive down from Va. coincidentally we drove by Tropical Auto Air and saw people working and drove in to see if they could help. The mechanic immediately checked and fixed the AC even though they were not really open. As we were desperate, they could have gauged us, but charged a very fair price - $45!

They fixed my ac for half the cost I was estimated elsewhere. They have always taken good care of me and I Have wheelchair van so when it breaks down its very hard to get transportation. The staff here at auto air have rescued me out of terrible situation more than once even when I was stranded with a break down all the way in GA I only trusted Gina and tropical auto air to diagnose the problem and fix it right and not rip me off like other mechanic in Ga wanted 3000 dollars. I had it towed to Gina and they found problem it cost way less and little over 500 instead of 3000. I was so glad I had it towed to Tropical auto from GA it was great choice and to top it off tropical auto staff terry brought my wheelchair van all the way from Daytona to where I was stranded in a hotel in Ga 2 hours away and did it for a very reasonable price so I could have my wheelchair van to get back home to Daytona after Tropical air fixed it. I recommend anyone go here who wants a good mechanic and save lots of money cuz these people tell you whats wrong do not jack up prices or tell u something is needed when its not.
I really wanted to keep my dollars from going to Best Buy for a stereo... read more I really wanted to keep my dollars from going to Best Buy for a stereo installation I was having done. I told Don that he could have my business if he could undercut them. After two phone conversations about my specific job I decided to let him do it. I really had a bad feeling about his attitude after our talks as he is technically professional, but very much on the short and rude side of that coin. On the day of, I bring him my car and my own purchased items, and he looks at me like he is clueless as to why I'm there. I also wanted to reverify that I would be able to make an appointment in 3.5 hours from now. He responded with a "ya I know, ya told me" as he walked away with his back to me. His shop was very uninviting with an awful stench and typical self owned business signs hanging saying, "this is not Burger King, you don't get it your way" and the like. With all of this I was a breath away from saying "this isn't going to work", and pulling the plug and taking my car elsewhere. All I was hoping was he didn't make me regret not leaving. I sat for 3.25 hours straight w/o a single word or update, with my next appointment approaching. He came out I paid and we spoke a minute, when I inquired about a specific detail of the job he of course spoke to me in a very condescending manner. All told the job was done perfectly to my estimation. However, I can't understand with the way small business owners are losing business to big box entities, that he wouldn't be bending over backwards to promote his establishment in a friendly manner. The other reports of his attitude are definitely true, and the final bill was the same as Best Buy, so I am just happy I got the job done first time. I would not return.
