Their representative Mary was very rude and I will NEVER do business with this company again. I called around to a few tow companies for pricing for a box truck and TIA had a good price. They quoted $125 over the phone. I let Mary know that I was a business and calling around for tow pricing and she said okay. When I called back to confirm the tow pick up, she reiterated $125 was the charge. There was no mention of anything else. When the tow truck driver arrived, he said the charge was $125 and they now do not accept checks. He then said that I could pay with a credit card but the charge would be $5-$10 more. I said that Mary mentioned nothing of an extra charge nor any mention of not accepting checks, especially since I told her this was a business. When I attempted to call TIA, the phone just rang and rang, then went to voicemail, then rang and rang again for two additional attempts. I was finally able to speak with Mary on the phone on the fourth attempt and she was quite rude and belligerent. I was explaining to her our phone conversation which she said that she remembered and that she would call me back regarding accepting a check. When she called me back four (4) minutes later, she still had a negative attitude and said due to bad checks they could not accept. She then said that she didn't know that $5-$10 would affect me so, so that is what the charge would now be. As I tried to explain to her that this is not the price she told me, she became irate and started to curse me and then hung up the phone on me. I tried to call her back two (2) times and there was no answer. She finally answered on my third try and said that I was giving her attitude and kept talking over me, not listening, and being very rude. She then said that she would take off the five dollars and as she continued with her overtly negative attitude said, "You know what? Forget it. I am not taking the charge off and not taking your credit card. Only cash. How long does my driver need to wait? How many minutes to wait for you to get cash? I am going to charge you for every minute until I get my cash. You need to decide what you are going to do cause I need my money. You call me when you figure it out." And then she proceeded to hang up on me again. As I attempted to call Mary back once again, the phone just rang and rang and she answered the phone on my next second attempt. She was still not listening and hung up on me prior to me even speaking. Their tow truck driver was also very disruptive and disrespectful as well. They did not even want to give me a receipt. I own a business and I would never treat vendors, customers, or any human being with such disdain. I will NEVER utilize their services again. This is not a customer service business. No one else should ever use TIA Towing.

After doing extensive labor, Mike determined I needed a new fuel pump. I wasn't prepared for such an expensive repair and was in the middle of moving, so I paid for the labor but declined to get it fixed that day, also wondering if I should sell the car. Mike said that if/when I was ready to get the new pump, he'd replace the fuel pump without charging labor. Months later, I decided it would be cheaper to pay for a new fuel pump than buy another car. Mike stood by his offer and he put in a new pump. Plus, he drove it home just to make sure there were no signs of gas leaks etc. I'm so glad I decided to get it fixed--the car is super peppy and drives like a brand new car! In fact, it has never driven this well in all the time I've had it. He is an excellent mechanic, ethical, and trustworthy. Thanks Mike!

The repair shop was supposed to do routine maintenance. Mr. Kaufman found several things that he recommended could be repaired during routine servicing. I took him up on the offer. I was told the car was going to be available same day or by next morning at the latest. When asking about my car, Mr. Kauffman said they had did something to the car, couldn't give it to me in the condition it was in, and wanted more time to "figure out what to do". I didn't feel that Mr. Kaufman had any sense of urgency in getting my car back to me in working order and I was very concerned that he didn't know what he and/or his staff were doing. So after three days, I demanded my car back, paid for the work, and took my car. The car was really in bad shape - it sputtered and stalled , barely could get it to the dealership. The service department at the dealership said they worked on the car improperly and installed wrong equipment. I was charged 1100 dollars by the service department to correct the improper work done by Kaufman's. I disputed the charge of my credit card for Kaufman and they challenged the dispute saying the work was" properly performed" . That is so dishonest. I was furious at the loss of not being able to use my car and for the money I lost. I now have to fight to get my money back, might have to take this business to small claims. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this business. Kauffman's doesn't seem to want to take ownership that they really messed my car up. They contested a credit dispute with my credit card and I have spent so much time trying to get my money back. Kauffman on other reviews sites said that "We didn't know or see that your timing belt would fail anytime soon.", No - if that were the case, Sir , then first you should have seen that when changing out the drive belts (after all , you are an ASE mechanic - right?) - YOU'RE the one who said the drive belts needed to be changed and you told me the timing belt looked good - do you remember why? Because about two years or so I got a new timing belt at a different shop; timing belts don't fail that fast. What happened, sir - is that you messed my car up - you used incorrect parts and installed parts improperly - and no I don't want to work with you on this - I just want my money back because I remember how arrogant and condescending you were to me as a customer. If you are a fair merchant and knew you messed up, for starters - at least you shouldn't have charged me anything - but you don't seem to have a heart - and I needed my car - and my car only needed just routine maintenance - and you caused my family and I a lot of trouble. So I feel it's my right and duty to tell the world about how I got hurt giving you my business. I found your business because of positive reviews. I at least can warn the next guy to take a pause before they trust their car to you.
