About Carlos Marine Service
Provides mobile marine service to boat owners. We have a fleet of trucks with various marine technicians providing service to the So. Fla area.
I did not need a Marine Mechanic till now and looked online for a mobile marine mech. I found Carlos Marine Service and made an appointment that same day. Carlos was early for the appointment which is unheard of in Miami. He quickly diagnosed what repairs where needed and ordered repair kits and said he would be back early the next week. He showed up on the day he said he would. I had no problem with him making repairs while I was at work. What a hugh convenience that was to not have to tow boat to a shop or blow a Saturday while he was at my house. He quickly made repairs and kept me posted vis text messages and gave me a bunch of free advice on care and maintenance. I don't mind paying a fair price for services and I know I got a fair price. Now I have a mechanic I trust and would recommend to anyone needing boat repairs. JohnI did not need a Marine Mechanic till now and looked online for a mobile marine mech. I previously wrongly reviewed this man on his website because I thought I was lucky to find an honest mechanic in Miami -I was absolutely wrong about this scumbag. This guy came to my house to survey a boat that I had just bought on March 2nd 2013 and fixed a couple things on the boat. I went to work and I've asked him to check all the mechanics - when I returned, he said my boat was in excellent condition and ready for the water but refused changing engine oil even when I told him boat wasn’t used for a while from previous owner, he even told me and I quote.."If you know better than I do, why did you call me?" That should have been a red flag right there! After "giving me the OK" I‘ve asked him to test the boat in the water as he agreed when I first called him and told him I would be happy to pay him extra for his time (I paid him $400 for few hours work). “Carlitos” said he would come back Thursday, March 7th, to get remaining parts (Lock for outdrive and other cosmetic work done) and bring the receipt for his work and added.. "We can test the boat in the water Thursday" and blame the weather (BS, I check the weather the whole week and it was good for cruising). When he left, he told me to write a nice review on his website which I gladly did since I thought he had done a nice work, my mistake and here is why: Thursday came and I called Carlos, he didn’t answer the phone or my text messages, I called him back Friday…He answered and said he would call me back which never did, I called back and asked him to e-mail me the receipt since I figure I would never hear from him again.. He told me to request it on his website, then he told me to request receipt from his personal e-mail. I tried a few days with no success, then I went ahead to test the boat myself. To my disappointment a funny noise along with smoke took over after just 15 minutes on the boat, I had to be towed back $250 and spend $1,400 in engine damage and gimbal/bearing repairs. I advise you DOI previously wrongly reviewed this man on his website because I thought I was lucky to find an honest mechanic in Miami -I was absolutely wrong about this scumbag. I have a 225hp Johnson boat engine. I noticed right away that my motor was not functioning correctly. I decided to take a chance on a referral that my friend gave me. I called Carlos Marine Service, they came to me and checked out my motor. I must say I was very impressed with the service, the professionalism, and most of all the coast. Ever since then, they are the only marine service that work on my boat. I have installed other electrical components and my motor is still running in great with out a problem.I have a 225hp Johnson boat engine.
