He was even able to point out some common failure points on the R56’s so that I can keep an eye out and have them repaired before major damage will occur. One of the folks at our local autocross recommended that I go and see Ian(owner) at Maitland Importers. He sat down with me, and being an avid autocrosser himself, reviewed what class I was building the car for, and what my goals were. He worked out a very comprehensive motor build for me, and still came in cheaper than a factory drop in motor from Mini. I am amazed, and I cannot say enough positive things about Ian and his team. Anything my little mini needs will be handled by these guys from now on!
I'm relatively new in the area, and needed to find a reliable automoti... read more I'm relatively new in the area, and needed to find a reliable automotive repair and service shop to help me with numerous issues that have been creeping up with my car recently. I had been noticing some issues with my suspensions, alignment, and some strange things happening with my engine, and since I'm not an expert, I needed a shop that would provide honest, friendly, and courteous service and wouldn't try to take me (and my wallet) for a ride. I was pleased when I called Car Port Specialist on a whim and had a pleasant conversation with them over the phone. They were patient with me and didn't talk down to me or make me feel small for not knowing exactly what the problem was. I came in the same day and they did some diagnostic testing, and I didn't even have to pay from the estimate. For me, this was big; other shops I called had no patience for me being unsure about the exact nature of the problem, and would have charged a substantial amount for the estimate. In the end, I was expecting the repairs to be more expensive than they were. Ultimately the engine issue was minimal, and the prices for everything were extremely fair. They were pretty quick with my car, and even gave me a ride home. Diana Spirelli
