We found Latitude 27 online and gave them a call. We were very fortunate to speak with Jeff who took care of everything. He gave us a guess estimate over the phone which turned out to be 100% accurate. He was professional, experienced, and courteous! The characteristic we appreciated most was his concern and sense of urgency for the customer. He fit in the work we needed done so that our vacation time would include a reliable boat. He also went out of his way to rush the receipt of the parts needed. He kept us informed on every step and kept his word true. I spent the previous 10 years going through multiple marine mechanics with little success to none! They have been responsive and do what they say they will do.......which is refreshing. The mechanic that did the work dig a good job but I found serious overcharging on my bill for the amount of work that was performed. I guess since they are the only boat repair facility on this side of the bay they feel comfortable charging what ever they want. I had my work order looked at by another marine repair facility and they told me that I was seriously overcharged. They showed me several instances on the work order where hours of work at over $100 per hour was charged for work that should have only taken a few minutes. In the future I will go the extra distance across the bay before I will ever use Viking Boat Works again. The owner is also a total jerk. He talks down to his customers like he is the only person around that knows anything about boats. I wasn't impressed with him or his repair facility. Be kind to your wallet. Go somewhere else.
