As a woman who knows absolutely nothing about the mechanics of cars, I... read more As a woman who knows absolutely nothing about the mechanics of cars, I often feel like I walk into a mechanic's office with a giant target on my back. I must say, this was not so when I visited Tunxis - it was by far the best experience I have ever had with a mechanic. I was treated fairly and kindly, and the owner was extremely helpful and caring when they replaced my heater. I came to the mechanic with my two year old daughter, and the owner helped me install her car seat in the loaner vehicle. I took the car in on a Friday and the parts weren't available until Monday, but they let me keep the loaner car over the weekend so that I would have heat over the weekend (this was in the winter). They explained in clear terms what repairs were needed and repaired it for a reasonable price. I very highly recommend Tunxis.
i recently visited the Hess in Bristol, on Farmington Avenue.I purchas... read more i recently visited the Hess in Bristol, on Farmington Avenue.I purchased a product that did not work,when i went to return the product(with my receipt)the clerk refused to return or exchange the product.He said his name was Abhay Shah,i asked to speak to the store manager,and he said he is the manager,and he also claimed to be the owner as well,but then later in the conversation,he told me the owner's name was Sal Patel,(which at first he did not want to give me the name of the owner)I also asked for the corporate number and he refused to give me that number as well. This was by far the worst display of customer service that i have ever experienced in my entire life!When i asked him why he could not return the product,he yelled at me and told me to leave the store and not to come back while waving and pointing his finger at me.I was a frequent shopper at this gas station,and went there at least 3 times a week,i will no longer visit this location ever again because of the way i was treated by this man.It would be one thing if he was just a worker,but for a manager to act this way,and yell at a customer(with other customers in line,and in the store)is just foul!! i will be sure to stop right next door at the Citgo where they treat their customers with respect and decency,and Hess has lost a valuable,loyal customer,along with friends that frequently visited this location as well,and no longer will because of this un necessary sour,poor excuse of customer service !
