He came out the next day to look at our vehicle right where it was parked, which was in front of our house. After his initial diagnosis, we discussed his plan to fix the oil leak and the total cost. He said he never exceeds the total cost quoted, but only charges for time spent and materials, so the total can be less than the quote. He then purchased the parts and installed them. He kept me informed and was easy to talk to. The repair was completed successfully, on time, on budget and not a drop of oil was spilled on the street. He even checked back a week later to make sure I was a satisfied customer and I was! I will definitely call Mike the next time I have an automobile issue.
At the end of January 2013, my wife and I went to Livermore Ford to lo... read more At the end of January 2013, my wife and I went to Livermore Ford to look at an 2002 Explorer that was advertised. When we got there, the vehicle was still in the rear of the dealership and filthy dirty beyond all belief both inside and out. It was obviously the truck was not ready to be shown so I'm not sure why it was listed. Anyway we test drove the truck after a very quick wash and immediately noticed some strange sounds and shifting issues. Ben, the salesman with us, heard us and texted another salesman, Shon, who was waiting for us on our return. He swore up and down that there was no transmission problem with the vehicle and that if there was they would not sell it. Although very pleasant, Shon, turned out to be a typical salesman. He promised things that never came to being and changed his story as we negotiated the possible sale of the truck. I really wish I would have walked away, but for some stupid reason I did not and we bought the truck. Also for the first time in my life of buying vehicles, especially used vehicles, we bought a warranty. Good thing we did. One week later, I brought the truck to a different dealer and in 2 hours my newly purchased truck with no transmission problems was diagnosed with a transmission AND rear-end problem. The truck was repaired, but still does not seem right . I called Livermore Ford back and voiced by anger, and frustration with the finance manager, service manager , sales manager , and finally the general manager to let them know what occurred and how we were treated. All was to no avail. It seemed no one could care less and they claimed that the sudden mechanical problems must have occurred after purchase because there were no problems when it left their dealership. It is my own fault and I should have run away from Livermore ford when I had the chance adn not given them our money. DO NOT buy from Livermore Ford. Hugh not only gave me a great esitmate, but pitched in and personally used his considerable knowledge, expertise and experience to modify both the replacement parts and truck parts to ensure a perfect fit and smotth operation - all at a modest price!
