They call me back 6/24 and told me they needed to replace the primer blub - fuel line - clean fuel pump - fuel filter - spark plugs and coil packs. Cost $1352.00. I let them do everything except for the coil packs ( their cost $150.00 ea @ 6 total $900.00 ) and they would only install the coil packs they sold. That brought the cost down to $452.07, Once I got it home I notice Daves Marine installed the wrong spark plugs, I took the spark plugs out and back to Daves Marine, They did acknowledge that they install the wrong spark plugs and said they did not have the correct spark plugs in stock and give me a refund for them. I purchased new spark plugs and coil packs and install them myself. The first trip back to the lake it was having the same problem. I fish Bass Touraments and I don't have time to run back and forth trying to get it fixed so I started carring spare spark plugs every time I go to the lake, spark plugs for this motor average $8.00 each X 6, on top of that I noticed while I was changing spark plugs that the fuel filter sensor wire was off, ( Wrong Filter, $30.00 Thanks Daves Marine ) I had to buy another and install it myself. Now that my Touraments are over for this season I will find a honest and fair Boat repair shop and get my boat fixed. Dido on the other 1 star review. Thanks for charging me over $400.00 for nothing and wasting my time, if possible I would not even give you a 1 star rating instead I would give you 0 stars.

A new cool pack was $400. Turns out the motor only has 3 pickup coils(one for each spark plug) so it is impossible for it to send spark to the wrong wire. They just didn't know what they were talking about. A long story short, I didn't buy a new cool pack but spent several months and a few hundred more dollars working on the boats electrical system only to discover that the Welch plug in the bottom carburetor wasn't seated properly. Welch plugs cost 10 cents. Thanks for charging me 90 bucks to incorrectly diagnose my problem and also thanks for trying to scam more money out of me and for wasting months of my time with your incompetence.

Motor had 237 miles when the motor blew up on the highway. Custom Motors sent a flatbed to pick it up, and dropped it off the trailer. Custom Motors “rebuilt” the motor again, and 5 times total, and the motor is not any better now than before we paid them $1850 cash. This company has been in business 45 years! Derek Zellner is 3rd generation owner and he does not have the integrity or knowledge of his predecessor. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my worst enemy and I hope ALL of his future customers read ALL the reviews online and his business declines as the TRUTH is realized.
